Rebeca
Viales Montero, Soprano
She began
her voice education with the teachers Ivette Rojas and Cristina Vargas.
In 1997 she is admitted at the School of Musical Arts of the University
of Costa Rica, where she studied voice with Zamira Barquero, Raquel Ramirez
and Karen Esquivel. In the year 2000 she starts studies in the National
University in Voice Teaching and Interpretation with the M.M. Karen Esquivel
and the M.M Elena Villalobos, where she obtains her Bachelor degree in
2005. At this moment she prepares a higher degree in Voice with M.M Elena
Villalobos.
She is Member of the young artists opera group Opera Nova, where she has
done some opera scenes (Nozze di Figaro, Lucía di Lammermoor, Rusalka,
Lakmé, Traviata, Carmen, Rosenkavalier, Sonnambula, Norma, etc).
She took part in Dido and Aeneas (Belinda), Die Zauberflöte (Queen
of the Night), Orfeo and Euridice (Amore) and Hin und Züruck (Helena)
and the Zarzuela Adiós Julián. She was also member of Municipal
Conservatory of Alajuela Opera group and of the National Lyrical Company’
s young Artist Program in 2000, under M.M Karen Esquivel administration.
She has sung with the Costa Rica Bach Academy’s Orchestra and has
been soloist of university assemblies.
She has received master classes with several singers and directors, among
them Iride Martinez, Guadalupe Gonzalez Kreysa, Guido Lebrón, Raquel
Cortinas, Mathew Lata, Christine Komatzu and Kaysa Bostroem
In 2005 she was chosen for the young singers group of Iride Martínez's
Foundation.
She was assistant teacher of the National University pre university program
and teacher in the following institutions: Art Gallery Izcandé,
Cartago Contemporary Music Institute, Alajuela Municipal Conservatory
and Varley Music Institute and director of Calasanz High School’s
student choir. Right now she is Voice teacher and vocal coach of the choir
in Music Academy Bach of Costa Rica, voice teacher in Editus Academy and
she teachs voice, music theory and Music History in Opera Nova.
